Say, a 10 inch sub in a Honda Civic. Is there a better place than the trunk?

oh oh oh you mean install a sub woofer
put in the trunk and it's gonna boom -if you like tight normal un hyped bass go with some smaller woofs like 2 6&1/2 ers mounted where ever they can fit.

so you can sit it on your lap. That way you really feel the bass.

Determine your subwoofer is correct positioned. Open your trunk and locate your car subwoofer. Ensure it is properly mounted, facing away from the car.
