(13,324 posts)Maybe I didn't express myself so well, but I guess I meant something more like "driven crazy by loneliness."

(10,039 posts)It was interesting. It mostly explained how being lonely and alone are two different things, and that it can shorten your life, but it does not necessarily make you have mental health problems. Some people are more in need of social contact than others and so on.

(13,324 posts)For me it's kinda damned-if-I-do-damned-if-I-don't in a way, because both a lack of human contact and excessive human contact can make me a little crazy. Somewhat surprisingly (to me) I do have a fair number of close friends, but I'll often go weeks or months without seeing some of them despite living close by.
