(2,682 posts)All the other housemates are gone and I'm alone -- except for the four cats. It's quiet and I can (and do) do whatever I want. It's lovely to be retired.

(2,682 posts)Being retired and being able to do whatever one chooses doesn't necessarily mean energetically going from one activity to another. For some of us retired folks, it means having the choice to lay in bed and watch a movie in the morning while having tea and toast and then reading a book in the afternoon or spending the day in my nightgown. Occasionally, I look out the window and make a mental list of the outside chores that need to be done -- and then I may or may not do them. "Doing nothing" is also a choice. And TGIM still applies. I'm as far from Type A as the alphabet allows.

(2,682 posts)I chose to type that much. Later today, I won't type at all! And then not again until sometime tomorrow afternoon, if then.
Oh, and i won't mention posting pictures on DU several times a day might indicate an identifiable personality type!
But we love the pictures, so keep it up.

(30,947 posts)And it is nice not have to get dressed and rush off to work at 6:30. Now I can stay in my bathrobe and nightie until noon if I want to.
