Study participants also tended to rate bearded men as more masculine, healthy, and more likely to make good parents. Write researchers Barnaby Dixson and Robert Brooks in their recently published article, which appears in the latest issue of Evolution and Human Behavior.

I haven't shaved since Oct. 2, 1973, the day I was freed from government servitude.

(1,110 posts)12. I always liked bearded men.
When my husband retired, I finally convinced him to grow a beard. He hates shaving, so he was happy to oblige. I love how he looks with a beard. I tell him it makes him look "kind" and avuncular.
It does seem to make younger women trust him. They often ask him for advice. This attention causes envy in his beardless friends.
