Trying to get out more due to my depression etc. Went for a short walk today. Figures the day I chose to get out a bit is the day the weather stops being absolutely gorgeous, overcast today. Anyway here are a few shots and 2 vids of Mosquito Creek near my house, a few blocks away.
Note HORRIBLE audio quality because these were taken with a camera phone.

(6,154 posts)Struck me on my walk back. It's ALL flower. There's literally not a square inch of foliage not flowering.

(13,452 posts)Take a leaf and break it carefully pulling it only about an eighth inch all the way across. If a dogwood, nearly invisible hair-like strands will allow you to dangle half the leaf while holding the other half.

(6,154 posts)Pacific Dogwood is the provincial flower of British Columbia. This doesn't seem to be Pacific Dogwood however, the flowers are too dense and small. In fact most of the pics I've seen online how larger flowers, but the similarities are otherwise enough that I think it's some species of Dogwood.

had to take the bus today and the closest stop is a mile away, it was a nice day for a walk but the scenery wasn't nearly as nice.

Is it named mosquito creek for the obvious reasons? That trail looks nice is it open to bicycles?
Peace

(6,154 posts)I don't know. It's always a fast moving creek so I'm doubtful there's ever very many mosquitos around it. Mosquitos prefer stagnant water.
