So some in Russia has been trying to buy auto parts with my credit card..

Apparently, they tried small amounts at first, and then went for the kill...

I physically have my credit card in my purse and stateside, but the credit company Fraud Alert called me this morning...

I was half asleep, and joked with the guy, if I was in Russia, the only thing I'd be trying to buy would be a good Vodka w/tonic..

Fraud alerts usually annoy me, but I glad they caught it...

It's annoying when you have crossed 3 or more states in one day, and your purchase gets declined..

And give them a rough itinerary. It may be BOA but I've been pleased with their service since they took over this card.

When my husband was in Atlanta last fall, they called when he first presented the card at the hotel. I talked it over with the card security person and since then whenever we are planning a trip, we call ahead. I don't have to be exact, just let them know that we will be in X city about certain dates, driving, and for the conventions or seminars that there may be charges with vendors not from that particular city. I also gave them our cell numbers so they have them on record if there is a problem while we're not at home.

It's been better than the GM card we have that denied everything, even when the card was paid off and even when we notified them in advance of specific charges. They even denied a charge for a magazine subscription because the publisher was in Australia.

AS long as they know that is a regular thing, they would not flag the card. Have you talked to the people at your credit card company about this?

It doesn't bother me. Every time I use the card there is an automated call shortly after that I just ignore.

of his credit card to my brother for his trip through Asia. At some point my dad got a bill that showed 23000 dollars of charges in bath houses across Asia. Fortunately my brother had noticed the card missing right from the get go so my dad didn't have to pay.
