Wouldn't be surprised if some or even most of you had met him (RIP Hoku Donovan Smith)

A buddy from college, Hoku was truly one of the most amazing and inspirational people I had ever met. His perspective was one that would constantly keep your faith in humanity. Though I haven't seen him in years we have over Facebook talked about literature and philosophy, even as recent as last week. He ha traveled the world several times over, a Kerouac in his own right. He had recently expressed how excited he was to travel to Chicago- with how wise he was beyond his years part of me wonders if deep inside he knew it would be his last earthly travel. To quote other friends of his he was "a beacon of shinning light in what was in comparison to himself a dark world" "he could always make you feel like you were the most important person in the room" "he could bring a smile out of even the worst side of you". And I for one feel this earth is much lesser without him, and his passing has spurred in me the want to spread love and compassion even more, plus the want to tour India as he did on several occasions. I hope this journey was his greatest.

Peace brother
