well, the skies opened up over eastern Forsyth County, GA night about 2:30AM

and rained and rained and rained. my little rain gauge topped out over 6.2" in less than 5 hours. we now have significant flooding in our rivers and streams and Lake Lanier has come up over a foot in less than 24 hours... that's a load of water!

just thought i'd play weather reporter for a few minutes...

we had our hundred year flood back in 97, ten inches of rain in six hours. five people died when a flash flood hit a motor home park and the total damage was nearly $200 million.

but some good friends of ours who finished their basement (very nicely done) about 6 months ago will be doing all over again as there was about three feet of water in there at daylight.

No flooding up here as far as I know. I'll wait for the evening news.
