dog the first time she came near?

I used to know people who foster raised tiger babies. Often they were "mothered" by the family dog while fed by the people, and it wasn't long before they WAY outsized "mom". It was a trip and a half to watch them play with them and be careful, if vigorous.
But the need for companionship is strong, and a well fed lion might not have any desire to eat her. Their prey instincts can get triggered though. What the hell, though, they seem very happy.

Lion has beef leg for lunch, little dog licks lion's chops.
