oatmeal and blueberries are supposed to be good for my metabolism. What are you snacking on tonight? Not having made oatmeal in my life I bought the little packets on individual servings. Plain. Whole oatmeal. I microwaved it. Of course I should have bought in bulk. Now I know.

Where did you get the wild blueberries?

(118,880 posts)"wild Canadian blueberries". They are tiny, flash frozen, blue all the way through and much tastier that the big fat blueberries you buy fresh. I think with all that color they are better for you too. Expensive. Mine were about $6.99. But they should last me about two weeks a the very least. And they make the oatmeal a real treat.

(28,394 posts)I have a blueberry bush, but they are so sour, I let the chipmunks have the fruit.
"Wild Canadian blueberries" on the label would turn me into an impulse buyer!

(34,139 posts)I was doing it but last year with the surgeries and healing, I never got back into the habit.
Of course, this time of year is not conducive to wanting hot cereal - it is now getting to 90 during the day. But oatmeal is healthier and much cheaper than the boxed cereals I have been eating.
