MUD, saw the film tonight...

Better than I expected. I'm usually not a Matthew Mcconaughey fan, too may chick flicks and shallow acting, but he's damn good in this for the most part. The two kids, Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland, do a fantastic acting job here! As do all of the supporting cast. Extremely well directed, acted and written. It's a little long in places and there are some aspects of the film that are a bit hard to believe but as a few reviewers have mentioned you have to take this film as something of a modern tom sawyerish fairy tale. The cinematography and music do a wonderful job evoking the natural beauty of the bayou country. It's a moving, melancholy film about love, the mistakes we make in its name and how not all relationships are meant to be.

she plays a sexy but somewhat tarty girl. Like the rest of the cast she does a very good job.
