my favourite directors and candidates for best director(s) ever IMHO. This is of course from The Big Lebowski.

see, that's me!! I know I would lol!

I love the range the Coen's have. Everything from goofy comedies, that are still artfully directed and have a theme, to deep films that will leave you in awe of their ability like Fargo and No Country for Old Men.

I did stand right next to George Clooney during the political rally with the Little Warby Girls. HE TOUCHED MY LEFT ELBOW! Seriously, he really did touch my elbow. He was also really funny and very approachable (always willing to take pictures or sign autographs and NEVER rude to anyone). Clooney is a real class act IMHO.

I live about two blocks away from the courthouse where the scene is filmed so its really personal to me and my all time favorite movie.

As an extra, I was able to take my mom to the Premiere in Jackson Mississippi (we got free tickets!). It was probably the highpoint in both our lives.

I think gettng to take your mom on that trip to the premiere is even cooler than your extra work (which is cool enough!).

WTG!

10. It was really special. She died about a year later. Touching Clooney's elbow was nothing

compared to the pleasure of taking her to that movie. It was really not that much in the scheme of things but to her it was big time. Damn I miss her.

11. That's kind of a "We'll always have Paris" moment

You'll always have that special time with your mom, even with her gone.

Long ago, when I went to take my seat at a small concert venue, I was startled to find my butt landing on somebody's feet up on my chair. When I turned to confront the jerk, I found myself face-to-face with Ryan O'Neal (and this was around the time 'Love Story' came out). If only my mom could have seen me then!

But I still think your story beats mine all to hell. Thanks for sharing.

6. The difference between the Coens and others is that...

the Coens have supreme confidence in their talent and ability to get an "experience" across to the audience. Others would use far more crude and obvious devices to beat the audience over the head with the message they want to deliver. The Coens have the guts to say, NO, let's just direct this as scene as an absurd, surreal, 60s drug induced musical. And no we don't need any dialogue, no slap stick. The music will do most of the work here, turn it up high and let the audience absorb the scene. And unlike other directors they really DO have the talent to pull this stuff off.
