I never thought I would be here.
I should be completely off the medication within 2 weeks.

(8,155 posts)I know it won't be easy. But I feel nothing like the person I was when I was suicidally depressed 4 years ago.

(13,324 posts)and Risperdal for about 6 months. Neither did a whole lot for me, the Zoloft did seemingly make me feel better for a few months, but that may have been simply my optimism RE: starting college. I can't prove it, but I'm pretty convinced that the Zoloft did fuck with my head in unpleasant ways - I've never been as seriously suicidal as I was, at a couple points, while taking that stuff. And I've heard that that actually isn't an uncommon side effect. Hence why I no longer trust psychiatric meds as a whole and have refused to take them for nearly a decade now.
Good luck to you though. Sounds like you know what you're doing.
