The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsIs there anything I could take advantage about my super-ability to detect voices?
Like jobs where that is helpful. I just was in my kitchen making a gin and tonic and heard a distant/muffled voice coming from my tv where I had been watching the repeat of Rachel Maddow and a part of my brain said "Ron Wyden". Low and behold, I walk in and look at the tv and it is Oregon Senator Ron Wyden, somebody I'd heard speak one time in my life, a couple months ago.
I've noticed this skill over years of listening to radio and podcasts that I always know who is "on" as soon as I here them but tonight I surprised myself with the obscurity (to me) of the positive identification.
I'm also not blowing smoke up my own ass, I just hate my job and thought some fellow DUers might be wise enough to make me think this isn't a completely useless skill.
