Are you ever amazed that one of your posts wasn't hidden/deleted?

I had occasion to review a couple of my DU2 posts from a few years back, and in retrospect I can't believe that they're still there. In one, I explicitly called someone "a stupid fucking asshole," and in another I told someone "you can both go fuck yourselves."

I can only infer that no one Alerted on them, because there's no way they should have withstood moderator scrutiny.

What say you?

1. If nobody alerted on them, we would have had no reason to remove them.

But now that you mention it, and I look them up, you had some choice exchanges from 2007-2009 that remain unhidden.

In general I've been a bit less fighty on DU3, but now and then I go on the rampage.

Still, I haven't had any posts hidden on DU3, either (knock on wood).

6. In fairness to myself...

The post I reviewed was from 7 years ago, written in much different circumstances.

These days I can be just as fiery, but I don't engage in verbal attack like that.


Except against total jerk-heads, of course.

4. No. Pretty rare that I insult anyone directly here on DU.

Most of my hidden posts are because some of the art that I enjoy is viewed as unseemly by some of the good people here. Same for DU2.

5. I may be insane but i think of DU as a big room

Sometimes " there's a lot of love in the room " Sometimes there's not much love in the room-people are tired of the news ,tired of each other and just plain tired of being on line with people we can't see ,touch and smell . It's frustrating so we go for some results , people burn out ,ask for sympathy and generally ask for human companionship with people we agree with on core issues .

I posted something about the victims.

One of our more shit-riddled residents replied, "Are they the only three people to die today?"

To which I replied, "Fuck you."

The Jury ruled 5-1 to leave it.

if I hadn't cooled down and deleted them myself before hitting send.

So far that's working as I have never had one hidden.

because it will get hidden! But yeah, I was amazed that it stood. Didn't insult any du'er, but made a pretty strong statement about politicians on both sides being assholes.
