Driving test failure rates (60% lol)...

Hah lol I just looked up the failure rates for driving tests at my local ICBC centre and they are up to 60% for the final road test which seems rather crazy. And that 60% figure is right where I'm living, nice. Other parts of the province range as low as 10% in some smaller cities and towns. Because driving conditions are different in different locations it's not possible to have a set standard for everyone taking the test in different geographic regions. However given that once passed everyone is allowed to drive anywhere it still seems rather unfair. Any idea what kind of failure rates occur in your neck of the woods? Google might be able to answer the question for you.

It might be because you have your right turn signal on when turning left HarveyDarkey Jul 2013 #3

The streets here are busy and they tend to be hyper strict on rules of the road that frankly you just can't follow in the real world. So a lot of the time it may come down to luck. For example they fail you a lot on left turns in an intersection. You proceed into the intersection on a green with your signal to turn left and stop and wait for an opening in the on coming traffic, looking for crossing pedestrians too of course. But what happens when the light turns yellow? You are legally not allowed to be still in the intersection when the light turns red so you HAVE to make your turn on the yellow if the light changes. But people run yellow lights and pedestrians run at the last second so you are often forced to turn through on the red. Do you fail in this instance? It's up to the instructor.

It's a left turn and the signalling is correct.

The yellow light only means you may not enter the intersection if you can safely stop.
The red light means you must stop before entering the intersection.

it is mandatory for everyone in L.A. county: to drive while looking in the rear view mirror at their recent botox injection marks while texting their stylist
about what to wear to their pet's therapist appointment.
