alright, folks. sell me on Second Life. What is the big draw?

Because I am not getting it. Is it role playing? Is it just a social network? What? Sims on steroids?

Just saying I am curious will probably make it "not cool" if it is "cool" these days...

It's role-playing. It's a social network of kinds. It's similar to Sims.

You can build there. You can make and sell clothes, shoes, boots, jewelry, houses, castles, etc etc. You can do almost anything on a server that you can do in real life. Note I said "almost".

You can even join or form a simulator (computer server or "sim" as it's called) that has battle games on it. You have to try it for a while to see if you like it. Some hate it right away, some like it right away, others warm up to it.

It helps to have a newer/more powerful computer with plenty of RAM and a good graphics card. The people on older/less powerful laptops tend to suffer.

Any questions, shoot.
