There was an implication that it was merely about a reply to a homophobic post and the reply being hidden, but it seems there is more here than meets the eye...

Hosts have independent authority to lock a thread in their forums--and they don't require an alert to do that. Are hosts even notified of alerts?

If forum hosts don't catch something, a DU Mail msg can alert them to something they should see. Of course, you have to know who the hosts are and which of them is on the board currently in order to direct a msg...
