(10,129 posts)But, we have 3 "classic rock" stations in Seattle, and that - along with "Daniel", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" "Levon" and a host of others just get played waaaay too much for me... hell, I'm even at the point where Jackson Browne's "The Load Out/Stay" - which was hands-down my favorite song about the music industry - is now on my list of "never need to hear it again" songs...

Or at least thirty others that are better, if the post had really been about music.
By hey, you got that pedophile Jimmy Saville in the clip, so there's that.

(10,129 posts)But most are either horrifically overplayed, or they're entirely too schmaltzy (I.e. "the Disney era crapola, or the Kiki Dee duet...)

(10,129 posts)But, if one of them is "Candle in the Wind", I'd say that song has two strikes against it for me... first, the Princess Diana remake got overplayed to absolute death.. but more importantly, my old singer passed away back in 2009 from diabetes.. we had been friends and bandmates for 18 years.. whenever we were on the road, we'd always find some little karaoke joint, and that was "his" song.. he always nailed it, and it was always fun to watch people being blown away by a scary-looking, professional metal singer doing such an iconic "mellow rock" song, and doing it better than even the original.. of course, it was played at his memorial.. still kinda hard to hear 4 years later.
