He's not as likeable as Walton so he doesn't get that much respect, but his stats are impressive.

Also, unlike Walton he never choked to some podunk cow college in the NCAA Tourney.

Did Kareem ever get his shot blocked by someone who was barely 6'4"?

I don't think so.

The best pilots are the ones that get military training so what would you expect?

It's not his fault that he's tall.

I can't wait, either! I'm looking forward to seeing which of these kids from Rockford make the team. I won't get to see them either, because I am trapped in South Carolina. Can't afford to go up and see them when they play the Hurricanes this fall. I would if I could. At least I can webstream televised games and WGN radio. Way better than the days before the Internet, when we had a virtual hockey blackout here.

BTW, were you aware that St. Louis has instituted the same two-game policy that they now have in Nashville? I guess you just have to buy tickets to two different Blackhawks games. Or, just go to Stub Hub.

They also have one game in Detroit in January, but I suspect it will be just as hard to get tickets to that one. Check the team's web and Facebook pages. There are often ticket give-aways. A long shot...

He lasted longer than Walton but he never really took over a team and an entire city the way Walton did in 77.

Hell, a big part of the reason so many people currently ride bikes in Portland is because of Walton.

I remember when Walton was leaving the Celtics as a center and we were all terrified that no one could ever replace him. The guy was beyond amazing--so one fucked with him. How was he responsible for the bike phenomenon in Portland?

He'd go on and on about how much he loved the Grateful Dead.

It's a scientific fact that people who don't trip can barely tolerate the Dead.
