Anyone else just watch the LADEE moon probe take off?? I'm in Virginia and ran outside

right after it launched from Virginia Beach - could see it through the night sky with the naked eye. Very very cool

Supposed to have been able to see it from along the NC coast all the way up to Maine.

We even saw a stage separate! Mrs. V. needed something cool like this. She really enjoyed it. (So did I!)

behind some clouds, then saw it again --- must have been just a matter of minutes before it reached you guys and separated. How cool!

Hope you and Mrs. V are doing well and all of her family-related troubles are being resolved.

and love to you both.

It was awesome!

I saw both the second and 3rd stages ignite!

It was a lot brighter than I though it would be. Looked like a red triangle flying backwards.

because I bolted outside right after it launched. Then my husband and I were wandering around "where is it? where is it? There it is!!"

It was pretty spectacular. Glad you saw it, too.

Sounds like some of the sexier stuff could be seen a little later after lift off when it was too far away for us in Virginia to see.
