I owe the vet hospital $60 still for today... and my wife owes her sister & BIL $100 for the euthanasia two weeks ago... oh the joys of being the "working poor"... gotta laugh, cause I'm all cried out at this point...

But this is the pact we sign with every furry member of our families.

Knowing that makes NONE of the end easier.

Phoebe, Archie, Lilly, Buddy, Greyrat, Smokie, and my beloved feral Lucy who adopted me and brought me 6 feral kittens one afternoon.

I loved them all, and I believe they loved me as far as any cat would be able.

Chester will be my last cat. I am 62 this year and he is just now three. He will likely outlive me.

I have made provision for his care if that happens. That is part of this pact. He will never see the inside of a cage again.

I hope you can heal your heart soon.

Peace.

We lost two 17 yr old beloved dogs a year apart. At first we didn't want any more, but we eventually got another two rescue dogs and it really helped.

Like George Carlin said, life is a series of dogs.

Yeah, we were originally planning on looking at replacing the first dog maybe around the holidays. (Eldest son really took that one hard).. I'm thinking of sticking with that.. give us a couple months to really get our shit together, then talking to our landlady about the pugs she breeds maybe..

My sons and I are of course still grieving.

Take your time and grieve, don't let anyone rush you. Don't let anyone belittle your feelings.

I'm so terribly sorry for your loss.

Devastating. Our furbabies are so special...the bond is hard to describe and agonizing when they go.

Hurts like hell doesn't it? I lost two within weeks of each other some twenty years ago and it still breaks my heart to think of it.

I have had some excellent fosters and rescues in the meantime and I expect you will have a few yourself, but take your time to grieve.
