I love the bears and the doorbell though, that was a great one.
Thanks for another great Sunday cats SCE.
SalmonChantedEvening
(32,037 posts)So sorry to hear about Terra. Our furkids leave a wonderful mark on our lives, and their passing is always hard.
obxhead
(8,434 posts)it's almost worse because of the FIV.
No more kitties until the 2 we still have move on. I won't risk passing that virus to another kitty and the 2 remaining are likely carriers at this point.
Oh well, maybe it will become an excuse to get a doggie once again in the future. Love the kitties, but I've missed having a game of fetch in the yard for 20 years now.
Happy Sunday SCE, hope it is filled with naps for both of us.

(2,012 posts)in Colorado this week. One good thing in a sad week is that most of our pets were rescued, some by National Guard chinooks. Even most of our cattle, horses, donkeys, lamas too. Though some of our wildlife, squirrels, prairie dogs, and birds were drowned, most of the big guys, the bears, elk, deer, mountain lions and moose got to higher ground; they have a sixth sense I wish people had. Thanks SCE

(38,206 posts)Those plastic Scoop Away containers were the best. I use two as small trash cans in different rooms and a couple others to store dishes that belonged to my grandmother. I tried to think of the safest possible way to store the dishes without any chance of them breaking and those containers worked out perfect. I wrapped each dish and then lined the areas around the dishes inside the Scoop Away container with more wrapping. So far, they have stayed safe even after being moved several times.
My aunt asked me to save some of those plastic containers for her too. She has used them to store her knickknacks and even books. They don't break down or attract bugs like cardboard boxes. They stack nearly on top of each other too, if you save the lids, which I always did.
When Scoop Away quit making those, I wrote the company. They told me the cardboard boxes were more environmentally friendly. I think not. No Scoop Away plastic container ever got thrown away at my house. Everyone in my family wanted me to save them for them to use too. They were great. Too bad the company quit making those. Just as I had decided to take all of my stuff from storage that was in cardboard boxes and move it all to the Scoop Away containers, the company quit making them. It would have been perfect, because they stack so neatly and you can cram more stuff in a much smaller space than you can with cardboard boxes. Sometimes I think I wouldn't have anything if it wasn't for family heirlooms that I keep having to check on and re-box to keep safe in storage.
SalmonChantedEvening
(32,037 posts)Unintended consequences defined. They go eco friendly (or so they think) and you lose a great product for storing things that you and your family rely on, and that you came upon by never throwing away the normally disposable.
Argh.

SCE, can you believe this thread has had over 4000 views? The popularity is heart-warming to those of us who love animals. You don't come to this thread unless you love animals.

Cher
SalmonChantedEvening
(32,037 posts)It's nice to know so many love their animals, and the stories told by others about theirs. Tales of how the pics match antics of furkids still with them, or long since gone across the bridge. The pics that look just like animals they have, or had. The memories, the laughter, and the tears. Each week brings new ones, and they make doing this a joy instead of a task.
Schemers that steal your heart so well, that you never want it back.
Have a great week.
