For those who missed it at the end, she has a brain disorder that is operable but risky. Her family decided it is too much risk, as she is happy, unaware of her difference and the vet says it won't affect her health or lifespan. The other dogs in her family protect her.

As a former pug guardian, I can attest to how full of life those dags are, and Loca is certainly no exception.
