Mine had to be seeing our beautiful sunny early fall day here in Florida.

(12,132 posts)and I am the phone guy. But this new system is new to me. I got a VERY brief introduction as far as how to log in to the switch and some rudimentary instruction on MAC (moves, adds, changes) but nothing so elegant as a class yet. (We have me scheduled for some classes on this type of switch but they aren't for another couple weeks).
The system we got is the same as our division to the south already has so there is another phone guy in the company BUT he is on vacation this week.
So the happiest moment for me today was figuring out how to change the auto-attendant to ring to the right vectors this morning when it was reported that some of the menu options were going to the wrong places.
Fortunately the concepts of telephony are pretty similar across platforms and I was good at our old switch so I was able to figure out what was needed without calling in the outside company that installed the equipment.
I gave myself an attaboy knowing that nobody else here cares. To them, dial tone and the ability to get to their voicemail is a right that shall not be infringed so me not wrecking the system is simply what ought to be. Not anything heroic.

(3,065 posts)I've never been to a live NFL game before so I'm looking forward to it. Plus, they're playing the Bills. My ex BIL's home team. I hope the fish cream them.

(3,065 posts)I'll admit that the Bills have got some game, but the Dolphins are shaping up as well. We have a new coach and a pretty good QB.

(1,004 posts)the happiest moment came during a second job interview, where the hiring manager said "Welcome aboard, I'm glad to have you here."
And this is from a world renown research center, with independent funding apart from their government grants.

(66,352 posts)She's an IV drug user, and really wants to quit, but the treatment programs around here that will admit her without insurance are not terribly effective. She's in every month or so for assessment of her abscesses and some antibiotics.
Saw her today for some new abscesses, and a concurrent URI, and treated her. Since today is the first day of registration for the ACA, I asked her if she had even heard of it. She smiled and said she was already registered! Yay!
This is such a good thing!
People who need care will finally be able to access it!
Hear that, right-wingers? A GOOD thing!
Been trying, can't get through, but I will.
And, while I was at the pharmacy at Costco, I got my flu shot for $15. Done!

EDIT: I like to run, so this was excellent.

(22,756 posts)today I finally opened up a trail around my property lines... don't have a lot of land but it is pretty wild in the back, with lots of fallen trees and wet areas... I had a trail through almost all but had about 80 feet to go... took my chainsaw out, sawed trees, opened the trail and now I can walk the entire boundary... Yeah!!

(12,388 posts)I had three or four moments today that pleasantly made my life run a bit more smoothly than I had envisioned, so I was totally prepared to go with any one of these. Then suddenly I remembered when a dear friend of mine said to me, "Please be careful... Every time you leave I worry about you on that road." (I have a thirty mile drive on a road-kill country highway, twice daily).
She made me smile because she is not the type of person to say something just to be pleasant; she really was concerned about me.
I guess I'm a sucker for basic human caring and kindness.

(1,136 posts)Today, out of the blue, my boyfriend's teenage daughter apologized for her some minor bad behavior over the weekend...the "incident" wasn't a huge deal, but she kind of put me on the spot and put me in the middle between her and her dad. I mentioned in passing that it was a really tough spot for me later that day. She huffed off. Anyway, that was Sunday. Today she came up and said she had thought about it and that she was sorry. She didn't want me to feel like she was using me and she didn't like thinking she put me in a tough spot. Ahhh...it was a tiny little thing, but with the hormones, teen girl drama, mood swings, etc.. it was just SO refreshing to see a glimpse of the sweet girl that I know she is shine through.
And, I also was filmed in a video at work on a project I'm involved in. It was a hoot - lots of out-takes and bloopers and just a funny afternoon, which work often is more of a stressful, go/go/go pace. Was fun to have a good time with the team.

(4,465 posts)I realized a few days ago that it wasn't holding a charge for more than one use, for just an hour or two at the most. So I got online last night and did some research. After reading about my problem I thought I'd have to just buy a new one, but I continued reading and came across a solution that worked! It involved downloading and updating- anyway, it's like new now.
Yay!
