News of singer Lou Reed’s death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However the October 2013 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports. Thankfully, the singer best known for his hit song Walk on the Wild Side is alive and well.

I'd consider it an open question until confirmation from a second source and think RS was negligent to report it without a confirmation.

There is no word on the official Lou Reed Twitter feed or Facebook page...and the Lou Reed website is down with a 500 server error.

I'll go with Rolling Stone.

Seriously, what is with all the very not good satire sites? Such laziness.
