Because I just bought one and it won't clip on at all is there a trick to it. Do I have to make a pact with an ancient deity

(5,946 posts)you take a shower. I had the white one and it worked great for 5 years and then got stuck and wouldn't come off for cleaning, so I cut it off, but the sliver one is just junk.

(5,946 posts)The white one screwed on, so you could tighten it or put in a washer, the silver one clicks on. but it was always so loos, it wobbled a bit and loosened over time, I tried all the adapters only one fit and that ended badly for me. I got store credit when I brought it back without the receipt after 4 months. I tired every thing even plumbers tape and silly putty, the showers just got worse and worse.

(2,670 posts)The other three will clip in just fine but they don't fit my faucet
I got that one based off my previous model that I left at my old apartment.
Huge mistake.
The silver one leaks at the faucet joint and at the filter itself.

(20,176 posts)We had one in the fraternity house (a rental, the chapter was not that rich to own a house in DC.) that would never stay on. One of our pledges was an engineering student from Lithuania (and somewhat of a dunce but a really nice guy) and he said he could fix it on his day off classes. So we left him the keys and when we returned it was on, it worked and it never fell off again. We should have known.
When it came time to move out, we discovered why. He'd Gorilla-glued the threads on the filter to the ones on the spigot. So we left it there...and about a week later we got a letter and photos explaining why we weren't getting the security deposit back. A plumber later and much hair-pulling, the landlord ended up cutting it off with a hacksaw and replacing the faucet.
