Arcade Fire did it again. New release - Reflektor - is remarkable. But it takes several listens...

If you have Spotify, you can listen to the entire album. As an unabashed (and maybe surprisingly old, at 57) fan of the band - with Funeral, Neon Bible and The Suburbs all getting frequent listens since their various release dates - this one is quite a departure - showing lots of dance influence from the time the band spent in Haiti.

The new release is a long album - a good old fashioned double album. It took 3 or 4 listens, end to end, played loud, to "get it". And, wow, do I have it....ear worms abound!

If you want to listen to an hour or so from the new album live, in an NPR concert, here is the link.

Arcade Fire's music makes me very, very happy!

Still trying to get my head wrapped around the odd song "Reflektor."

Looking forward to hearing more of the album. In general I love Arcade Fire.

You have great taste in music! And I read in a science and tech quiz post a PhD in Chem to boot!
My BS is in Chem. Going for my PhD in infectious diseases right now. My qualifying exams are coming up so I could use some new tunes to help elevate the stress. I'm always on the hunt for new stuff to listen too.
Have a great night NRL

but a very close friend of mine, who lives in Montreal, sent me a link to the song. I love it. Quebec produces a surprising amount of talented artists (Patrick Watson is one).

Holy shit that's some good stuff.

Heard it on a local public radio station 91.3 WYEP. And nowhere else locally, alas.
