If I go to bed now, and set my alarm for 1hr faster than normal

If your clock adjusts itself then you'll be an hour late.

You should set it an hour later than normal if it doesn't adjust automatically.

My alarm clock by my bed gets the time from satellites as does my watch. computers sync time over the net.

Only my car will have to be adjusted manually.
