My last cat standing passed away tonight at 11 p.m. It was peaceful...one little seizure, about 30 seconds, and then she slipped away as I was petting her to calm her. She was a good one, 18 years old. We'll really miss her.

(399 posts)They are not "like" family, they ARE family. They are the best parts of ourselves, the one thing we know from day to day is going to be wonderful. Gone from the world but never, ever forgotten, loved as long as we still draw breath. The better place was here and the memories will continue to be a source of joy once the pain subsides.

(1,957 posts)The cover could be Rainbow Bridge and the inside would have verse, comments like this one. It is excellent,to the point and truly can make a fur baby parent feel better, make them realize there are many others who feel as they do,who have experienced the pain of pet loss. We are a huge family, made richer by the pets who have owned us and they will always be in our memory, our photographs.

(46,436 posts)We laid Sugar to rest today, out in the yard with the rest of her family, by the fence near the peony. We wrapped her in one of my old favorite t-shirts. A serendipitous manifestation of global climate change here is that there is no snow yet and our dirt is not frozen. My violas and pansies are still blooming, so we laid several on her grave and bid her farewell. She was born here in this place, her mother and brother are buried here, and their spirits will always live in this family's hearts.
Thank you again for caring.
