Except the ding to your wallet.

It's a good thing they found the sinus infection now. Did you get antibiotics for that?

I hope you are comfortable soon!

glad he was able to save me a trip to the clinic. didn't even know i had one but he found it on the xray. they gave me ammoxicillin, so i'm in for more belly discomfort, but i'd rather have that than face discomfort.

i'm going in the day before thanksgiving for the permanent crown and they said i should be fine for thanksgiving dinner.

I think he took and gave me two crowns instead of just one.
I had a problem with one of my teeth, I don't feel anything on the other one, he just said it was dead, and went at it.

... for my mouth" and I had to have 6 of them(!!!) pulled -- 3 on each side.
.
.
The dentist pulled one side one week and the other side the next week. That first week, even
with half my whole face numbed up with novocaine, I was so miserable that MiddleFingerMomMom
took me to this big ice cream place for an ENORMOUS thick chocolate milk shake.
.
I got my shake and we sat at a table and started talking. All of a sudden MFMMom started
laughing uncontrollably and couldn't stop. I was looking weirdly down towards the straw
because, though I was sucking for all I was worth it, that milkshake was too thick to come out.
.
So I thought.
.
In actuality, that shake was going straight from that straw to the other side of my mouth
and drool-CASCADING down my absolutely benumbed chin.

Sorry you're having such a terrible day.

a $4000.00 bill is to be expected, with half of the money paid before the dentist even starts. We don't have dental insurance. But he's got to get it done. I think we're going to have to take out a loan for the pre-payment, and then just pay it off month by month. D*mn.

i am so sorry.

i'm lucky to have dental or the bill would have been about $1,100. i just bit the bullet and put in on the credit card, which i only got for unforeseen medical expenses.

i'm lucky with my dentist that there is no pre-payment required.

good luck to you.

I am holding off on dental work because I am over my insurance limit. Smoking, a love of Coke (the soda, not the drug) and bulimia have done a number on my teeth. The Novocain also messes with my stomach, but if I have a LITTLE bit of bread in my stomach, it doesn't bother me as much. I also make them use the gas...best $75 I spend.

But, hey, at least they found the infection. That could have become real ugly, real quick.

As for the drooling...enjoy it. LOL!

and my doc said the dreaded word 'root canal'. don't know why none of this was caught when i had my cleaning in june, i'm a bit irritated by that.

yeah, sinus infections are no fun. i'll eat something in a bit, my stomach is so upset right now.

Don't worry about a root canal. It so isn't what it used to be. I had two, it took 25 minutes, mainly because it took so long to drain the infection. If it is on back teeth, that is a little more labor intensive, but the entire process is very different now. I didn't have a bit of pain during or after the procedure! It is possible it wasn't caught in your earlier cleaning because it wasn't there or was just forming. Of course, it might have been missed. I always look at my xrays and have them explained to me. They just loves me! Well, they actually do but it is because I bring baked goods and jambalaya.

I am sorry your stomach is so upset. I really do hate that when I come home from a dental appointment.

ETA: The drugs after a root canal are awesome!

What about soup? It is warm, liquid, and easy to keep down (it can settle your stomach). Try some Jewish penicillin (a.k.a. chicken noodle soup).

You are a mess...bless your heart.

butternut squash and beef stew, both too rich. didn't get crackers, either. i'm going to make my husband make another grocery run when he wakes up from his nap. a nap sounds like a nice thing right now, i hardly ever nap but i don't think it'll be a problem today.

you are so sweet, btw

Tomato, chicken noodle, or another type of broth soup will help settle your stomach. The crackers help too, but if you get a soup in high sodium, get salt-free crackers. Yeah, send hubby out for some other types of soups. Naps are nice, I take one everyday! They are actually very good for you. If you can't nap, just relax a bit.

Thanks for calling me sweet a nice thing after my day. I tend to be real sensitive to dental issues because I have lots of them, so I don't sympathize with you, I can empathize.

Been there, done it, got the t-shirt, and drooled all over it!

Take care.

Oh, and BTW, yes, once the permanent crown goes in, you can eat anything pretty quickly afterwards (personal note: avoid ice (for a couple of days) if you chew it...I almost wrecked mine by chewing ice. Ooops.
