(115,606 posts)Love the name - isn't that from a Lovecraft story? And he's beautiful.
ChazInAz
(2,559 posts)Originally, it was from a Bierce story, later picked up and used by Robert Chambers and Lovecraft, then me in my writing days. He's actually the second cat of that name who has graced my life. The first was an enormous black creature who looked like a melanistic lynx who showed up on our porch and pushed his way into our lives in the early Seventies. I've always thought it was a good name for a cat; after all, they never come when you call their names!

(9,298 posts)What a sparkling line-up this morning. The wildie animals are remarkable (mama panda holding baby). But so many of our domestic furries typical behavior are on display....kitties sleeping on clean laundry, messing up a puzzle, my pillow iz crooked, I barfed in the dog food.
Happy to report our orange & white stray kitty, Roofus, is spending more and more time inside. He is eating very well, so is looking better. But we have a ways to go with acceptance from Chiquita the Chihuahua and Georgy the FIRST orange & white kitty. Day by day, with vigilance and patience from the hoomanz, we may get there.
I was thrilled I tell you to see the little dwarf hamster - let the little things go. We have one named Tillie the Toiler, and they are the cutest darn things. But we dare not hold her loose like that, or she'll be gone. Loves her non-iceburg lettuce and little banana chunks.
Thanks so much for an amazing spread - enjoy what's left of the weekend and have a wonderful week. Waves to your critters.

(18,219 posts)I loved it all. Laughs , awwws , and groans .
I used to do jigsaw puzzles all the time (note, I said I used to), and I can relate to cats laying on the puzzles. They never did help me find a piece.....not once. Cats can really be useless sometimes. Lucky for them they are cute and helpful at keeping me warm in bed or during naps.
Ah, naps!
Have a great week. I'll be here again next week. See ya then.

(35,621 posts)I burst out laughing at the cat hanging in the doorway. That one pic tells a story. I love it that the dog has on a bandana, too.
The addendum of LOLcat rule about the cleanest laundry happened to me this week: "If possible, make it opposite your natural fur color so hoomans know you've been there. It makes them feel appreciated."
I did a laundry load of darks and a load of whites. In both cases, there was one T-shirt that didn't get dry. I spread the two out on the bed to dry.
You guessed it. I walked in a short time later to find the white cat on the black T-shirt and the black cat on the white T-shirt.
How thoughtful!
Thanks for the Sunday afternoon laughs, SCE. We luvs ya!

of the time I had a chair delivered and my cat freaked and hung from the top of the door molding, but the door was closed and she couldn't get through to hide. She was raised on a bottle (my first bottle kitten, two days old when I got her) and she was not fond of other people. I was amazed she could jump that high. But later she turned into a jump for fun kitty. My boyfriend and I would hold dining room chairs and slowly back away from each other as she jumped back and forth from one chair to the other. We would get up to 15' apart before she started missing the chairs and scarring us for life. We both still have scars from it.
