Just off the top of my head it would have to be between:

L7: Pretend that we're dead

Or The Slits: I heard it through the grapevine. I was too young when The Slits were big but they were quite an influence on my later love of Punk.

Thanks for the video...one of my favorite scenes in the movie...fits the song!

I took a shot to the jewels while crowd surfing at an L7 show back in the 90's. A very angry looking, very butch lady sized up the hit, smiled and got me with(thank gawd!) a jab....I watched helplessly as it happened...this is not a sea story, but probably is TMI!

my second choice would be the Breeders "cannonball"

Because the Night

Heart

My favorites include Crazy People and Heebie Jeebies.

I also love the Angels, Shirelles, Shangri Las, Bobbettes, the Teen Queens, Delicates and Supremes. How about the teenage rockabilly queen Miss Lorrie Collins, leader of the Collins Kids?

Janis Martin

Wanda Jackson

Jo Anne Campbell

Connie Francis

Lavern Baker

Brenda Lee

But the best girl group song of all time is without a doubt the 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy From Company B' by the Andrews Sisters. Can't touch that one, nope!
