I agree with you! DU is addictive: wonderful and terrible all at once. I couldn't stay away even if I wanted to.

6. I joined in October 2002

Right after I broke my leg in a bike accident and was still surfing on 56K dial up! I haven't posted a whole lot because:
1) seems there are those who always get replies and start threads that take off like a 747. My posts and threads tend to sink immediately to the bottom.

2) I am a writer, a blogger and pretty concise with salient points. But the posters on DU have me totally outclassed for the most part! I prefer to read their excellent words and most of the time find I don't need to add anything.

i started lurking in 2001 and this year i've missed the most continuous days because i was in the hospital and rehab for 6 weeks.

Used to work full time until 2011 when they let me go. MRried with three kids. My oldest is a Type 1 diabetic, and my younger two are a handful. I love my life!!!

23. I made my 600th post today...

About beer.....now that I think about it I maybe shoulda saved it for something half-way profound. Member since 2001, do a lot of reading (with the occasional long lapse), a lot of thinking, and not a hell of a lot of posting. Love DU! feel as though there are a lot of kindred souls here along with posters who make me think about issues from angles that wouldn't necessarily have occurred to me.
