"TURKEY, n. A large bird whose flesh when eaten on certain religious anniversaries has the peculiar property of attesting piety and gratitude. Incidentally, it is pretty good eating." (The Devil's Dictionary)

I've often suspected that turkey must have tasted better before it became the bloated mutation that we see nowadays. Lord knows what Bierce would have to say about the current state of the creatures.

We pay plenty extra for a locally-raised, pasture-fed turkey, and it's a completely different taste from what you'll get out of a supermarket freezer.

Never heard of her until now, and I thought I watched a lot of food how-to videos. She's wonderful! Now I'm going to have to watch all her other videos on YouTube.

At first I thought this was just a cute satire, but I see she is for real. That tip for the so-called "cookie dough" mixture to thicken the gravy was wonderful. I've never done it like that, but I like it already!

Nice thread! Happy early Thanksgiving to everyone.

who can never get that "perfect" turkey. Maybe I have and just didn't realize it. It's just a f*cking turkey.

At least I have always done it her way, just take the crap out of the inside and stuff it unceremoniously. I'll be trying again Thursday. And I loved how she got it out of the pan.....that never occurred to me.
