The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support Forumsnostalgia....I was 10 when this was first aired. Still love it!
(and yes, I know it's too early - just found it by googling and didn't want to lose the moment!)

(27,247 posts)I remember it coming on sometime during, or maybe between, Charlie Brown and the Grinch.
Now if only someone could dig up that old Christmas Seals PSA from 1967 with the trains...

(8,308 posts)That was sweet. Don't recall ever seeing it before. I was 18 then, probably explains it.

(2,529 posts)It's a sad state of affairs we have that a simple public holiday message like that would never be able to be aired today because of these conservative windbags and their manufactured outrages. "Season's Greetings?" How Un-Christian!

(15,366 posts)we must have survived the "War on Christmas" after all. It is still being celebrated so far as I know.
That "pagan" message of "Season's Greetings" must have slipped completely under the radar. Those who are now neocon latter-day Xtians would never have accepted it.
Of course, back in 1966, the loonies did not have the same stranglehold on the M$M as they do now.

(18,219 posts)since I was around at that time, and young enough that I was still home often and would have watched TV. At 13, I should have seen that. Very sweet.

(5,214 posts)I remember it as I was 10 and also remember it running for a few years after that.
I also remember Coke's commercial with the singers on a hill (the 1990 'reunion of the same);
And the commercial remake of the same;
