She hates the white stuff and can't wait to flee New England's winters. I'll have to tell her that it's just not far enough now.

I was hoping to see some snow flurries this morning but there aren't any. A few years ago there was snow, on Christmas, it was magical. It didn't stick but it was so beautiful while it lasted.

And then we had real snow that did stick a few years before that, about a foot. I took my dog out for a hike in it and got SO tired out. I was a mile away from home and it felt like I was trudging through water. I'd never been so fatigued or at least not in that way. It was fun but I was glad to see it go the next day.

for some unknown reason, our older dog prefers to hobble up the longest set of stairs instead of the two that lead up to the screen porch. If we can catch him before he does it, we can usually call him to the other side. This morning he tried to go up the longer set and about three steps in, slipping and sliding, he turned back around and slid down. Then he had a look like now what? My husband had to go outside and call him around to the other side. Old dog, new trick. The saying is true!

The wind is supposed to dry this stuff up but I don't know how long that will take!

They get set in their ways too I guess. We had some ice this morning but it's gone now. I just went out to gather some kindling, it's bright and sunny but freezing. I'm usually good in a sweater at Thanksgiving, today I needed a coat and gloves.

I think we're in for a really cold Winter.

They'd predicted 1- 1.5" of rain total.

It's more like 1-1.5" per hour. With howling wind, so horizontal rain.

it's snow and the wind is even more brutal.

She's at the top of the lower Berkshires in CT. Most precip from early September to mid May is snow, regardless what it's doing 2000' below at the valley floor. She grew up there. I grew up there.

I'm trying to get her to move someplace warm and not horrifically Republican...she's a typical New England Republican and I fear if she moves to SC, I'm going to end up with a tea party loon. She's already a bit susceptible...she believes everything she sees on the news until it's refuted directly to her. And she watches FNC and never questions even after the 1000 stories I've debunked over 10 years why they keep lying to her. She doesn't like CNN because everybody knows they're full of shit. (Of all the things I've said over the years...that's the one to stick? :shrug She won't watch MSNBC at all.

I tried to sell Miami Beach. She said too much coke, too expensive and not enough whales. She's obsessed with whales.
