used it for a month and it's been collecting dust for a year+.

There's a new refrigerator that has one built in that seems kinda cool but I'm a sucker for gadgets. I'm not, however, a sucker for things I gotta maintain. It irritates me I have to change the water filter in the fridge once a year. So I don't know how well I'd keep up with changing a CO2 cartridge.

I probably would not use flavorings though - if I had one it would be for adding a splash of soda to cheap scotch. (my good scotch is neat.)

But we pretty much gave up on soda years ago - the sugar was just too much and I refuse to drink artificial sweeteners. So we wouldn't get much use out of one.

*his may have not been the soda stream brand but it was one of those thingamajigs.

the empties in for refilled ones at a discount at an area store that sells fancy coffee, tea, and Soda flavors.

You have to wash the bottles by hand in warmish, but not hot, water. Sometimes the lids get gunky underneath the seals, but they are removable if you have pliers. You can also just buy new bottle tops.

They do sugar or artificial sweeteners for sodas. Although the sugar tastes better than the fake stuff, it is messy and encourages that gunk to grow in the lids if someone forgets to wash the bottle right away. I have written to the company and asked about a Stevia sweetened version. Still waiting for that.

I've tried the seltzers, but they remind me of "Kissing Potion" lip gloss sticks. LOL

Overall, wouldn't be without it. Since we are a family of soda addicts, we've cut down on buying an awful lot of bottles, and we like enough of the flavors to make it worthwhile.
