what are your thankfuls this year?

our thanksgiving tradition is that before we start tucking into dinner, everyone at the table must list three for which we are thankful. the thankfuls have been part of thanksgiving for as long as i can remember. things are financially up in the air for my husband and i right now, but i have a lot to be thankful for.

here are my mine

1) the love i have in my life. my husband, my family, my friends, my cats, and you, duers. a kind word and a hug, be it in person or virtual, are never far off for me. i don't like saying i'm blessed, but my life truly is blessed with love.

2) my health. physical, mental and emotional.

3) my job. it's not a great job, the pay isn't great, but it helps keep the bills paid, food on the table and a roof over our heads. it also gives me plenty of time off and really good insurance coverage. my boss is a strange duck, but he trusts me and never gets in my way and i work with some really great people.

happy turkey to you, du

We still both work hard and I'm in school trying to make our lives better, but we still have it pretty good compared to a large portion of the planet.

cause that fucker wasn't done yet! must have still been partially frozen. I didn't give it a proper groping when I stuffed it. dinner now delayed for another 45 minutes to an hour. no biggie - at least we didn't start hacking it up yet, and I can imbibe another glass o' wine!

Other than that not much.

I blew a huge opportunity for a relationship this year with someone that i care very deeply about and I'm kicking myself every day about it. There was so much potential and my communication skills blew it.

I found out this week that my grandfather has about 6 months left, and because of my job, I won't be able to get there and see him. (He's in Maine, my job is in NC so it's not exactly easy).
