Consider this: This could actually happen at the Super Bowl in January.....

Superbowl is finally going to be held in a cold weather city that doesn't have a dome stadium!!!

BTW that was an AMAZING game today in Philadelphia - My beloved Eagles scored 28 points in the 4th quarter or so they say since technically no one could really see the game underneath all that snow.

After all, the league isn't concerned about the safety and comfort of the players or fans when the weather is bad during the regular season. Otherwise, they'd come up looking like a bunch of money grubbers or something...

That wold be the most entertaining thing to happen at a halftime of one of these monstrosities.

Why so many people get so excited about so many untalented people lip-syncing is completely beyond me.

even if the singer may actually be singing live. You have 6 minutes to get the stage set. A proper sound check takes 2 hours. These shows are all fake.

Even when the Boston Pops performed at the SB, the audience heard a pre-recorded program.

Personally I thought the Eagles would struggle against the Lions, who have had a good season so far. But in the end the weather was probably the biggest deterrent against the Lions and it showed in the 4th quarter when the Eagles made that amazing comeback.

Of all the years NOT to make the SB, this could be a pretty good one.

Seriously, this is dangerous for the athletes. They are always just one play away from losing millions of dollars as their career goes up in smoke. This is not how that should happen.

I think all the stadiums should be given a chance to host the Super Bowl. It brings a ton of money in to the local economy.

That was the amazing Fog Bowl game of 1988 Eagles vs. Chicago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fog_Bowl_(American_football)

They said this game was ranked #3 for most memorable NFL game affected by the weather. It would be interesting to see how yesterdays Lions vs. Eagles game stacks up to that list!

NO ONE saw that game - they just saw this big thick fog of voidness.

I remember that game very well! Oddly enough I was not an Eagles fan back then. I was still a Cowboys fan but that was the last year because if I'm correct that was the year that Tom Landry was fired (or soon after the season was finished).

But we had the game on our TV watching it that day.

I knew it was time to replace Tom Landry but the way he was fired was just disrespectful. Jerry Jones could have offered him a position that took him off the sidelines but kept him with the Cowboys team. If Landry was not happy with that position then he could have resigned all together. But Jerry Jones toss Landry out like he was week old trash. I have never forgiven the Cowboys management since then and at the time I had just moved to the Philly area so I jumped on the bandwagon of the hometown team and haven't left since.

I think that even though Landry was the face of the franchise, he did need to go. Could it have been handled better; of course it could have. The last few years of the Landry regime was an utter disaster with no direction. It was kind of refreshing to have a new direction to the team after the previous years since the f***ing catch by the 49er's.

How much you want to bet that anything over 15 yards, the QB was just tossing to anything in a green jersey?

It was computers. If you watched the other snow games on a different network, you had no clue where the yard markers were because they did not have the technology in use.

At the sidelines they simply maintain the yardage markers for the officials with good old fashioned snow shovels. In the top pic in the OP, those markers were simply shoveled. Each 10yd and the two center lines up the middle.

when both teams play in New Jersey.

Either build a stadium in New York or rename the damn teams.

I remember about a decade ago they talked about building the new Flyers/Sixers Arena over in Camdem NJ. The fans (myself included) when nuts saying we would not support a team in New Jersey nor would we want them to be called Philadelphia teams anymore. The new arena was built where the crumbling JFK Stadium use to be.
