a vehicle pointed westbound who wants to go southbound exiting a driveway wants to cross over and get in front of you. There is no oncoming northbound traffic.

what do you do:

1. stop, make a hole, let the guy in

2. be like the person behind you and start honking, then pull up along side and call you:

b. retarded
c. ugly
d. a litany of abusive language.

Once the woman paused after her road rage fit, I calmly asked her if she had ever heard of the concept of "courtesy."

2. The nicest people can be the biggest assholes behind the wheel

Drivers are transformed into monsters and in some parts of the country it is worse than others.

The big thing drivers like to do around here is start slowing down when approaching a stop light, then if it turns yellow, they stomp on it to make it through leaving you at the light. And letting someone out of a driveway? No way will they do that here.

It just seems polite to let someone in.

Big cities are the worst though. ANY big city.

4. Exactly - the bigger the city, the worse the driver.

We make an annual trip to the semi rural Missouri town we lived in for years and the first day we get there it drives us nuts because no one is going more than the posted speed. Then we decompress and relax and enjoy the no rush travel.

Get off the freeway and out of the city and people are not nearly as bad behind the wheel.

5. I this case I'd let them in

It's the assholes on the highway, after being warned for 5 miles that they need to merge into one lane, drive all the way to the front and try to force their way in front of everyone who has already merged. They don't get a break at all.

6. Most of the time I would stop and allow the motorist to get in front of me. But

if there are other motorists behind me I would ignore the person who wants to get out of the driveway.
