How is your morning?
Earlier this week (on Tuesday afternoon) I called one of the local car rental businesses. I reserved a small car for Mr ITW to pick up today. This morning I call to say we would be in at 11:30 instead of 10 AM. When we arrived (20 miles from home) Mr ITW was told there were no cars to be rented. [img]

I was polite but firm about after 15 years of doing business with them I'll find a new rental company.
Well ... 
half an hour later ...
He drove out with a car, 10% discount and we have it until 12 noon on Monday to return it. He's driving down to see his granddaughters dance in The Nutcracker tomorrow.
Polite but firm is the way to go. I worked in retail and other service industries long enough to know that if someone is being rude, pushy, or a jerk, the quickest expedient is just to get rid of them.
