Seamus Heaney reads his own translation of Beowulf

Beowulf came up in a now-locked Lounge thread; as did Ireland, for that matter. If you're interested in it, then I highly recommend the poet reading his own translation, here:

Thank you very much for this, btw. As the offspring of Irish patriots, I excuse my love of this poem by considering how it came into being long before the Emerald Isle was invaded and occupied by a foreign power that did everything possible to lay waste to the land and its people. At least that's what I plan to tell Michael Collins if I ever meet him on the other side. Don't know if he'll buy it. But there it is. I love Beowulf beyond all reason.
