A friend of my 11 year old grandson broke off a rubber tab on the zipper of his jacket.
For reasons unknown, he put it in his ear on Friday.
Couldn't get it out.
Neither could mom or dad.
Visit to ER Saturday.
Doc there couldn't retrieve it either.
"You need to see an ENT specialist."
Kid had to live with it through Sunday.
On Monday his mom called an ENT.
"We can see you Thursday."
Mom convinced them it was an emergency and couldn't wait.
They relented and saw the boy that morning.
Took about 5 seconds for the tab to be removed.
Mother and boy doing well.
He was with us Monday afternoon playing X-Box football with our grandson.
I played the song for him.
He laughed and loved it.

(7,515 posts)to an emergency care center...she stuck a tiny cap from a barrette up her nose! It was a Saturday morning.... When we asked her why she said, "I wanted to hide it from Morgan" her older sister! Kids!
Glad your grandson did no harm...ears can be tricky.

(6,272 posts)stuck a wheat seed in her ear. Mom took her to the doctor and he tried to pull it out, then wash it out, with no luck. So he sent her home, mentioning that it just might be a problem having let that seed get wet, because of the possibility that it might swell up and them it would REALLY be stuck.
So I came home from school later that afternoon to see my sister getting her ear vacuumed - our mother had affixed a drinking straw to the end if the vacuum hose. It worked! But mom later said that she wished she had thought to put a new bag in the machine first! I will never forget her painstakingly sifting through that full bag searching for that stupid seed.
