How can I access my italics thingie for use on DU?

I don't have the bar that gives me the icon like I have on My Documents. How do I get that bar so I can bold stuff, too? Or is there some other way? I see people using italics and bold all the time and I want to do that, too...but alas

1. Your typographic privileges have been suspended for 90 days for saying "thingie".

Now don't ask me to get more specific - just say Thank You and move on... (Actually, thingy is my go to word when all other words fail me).

I kept thinking "what does everybody else have that I don't." I automatically assume that I am too lame technologically to ever have the right solution to stuff. Like everybody else has magic computers and I have dumb old PC and I am stuck forever in, like, 2002 or something. Ah, life was simpler then...I still have my 3.5 floppy disks holding all those terrific papers I wrote in grad school...I really need to throw those away...

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
