Mr. froggy went to get us sub sandwiches for lunch today

When he got home he told me that as he was standing in line, a group of teenagers came in, three boys and three girls. One of the boys said to him, “Hey, old man! You sick old bastards have nothing to do, so let us ahead of you.” His friends giggled and smirked.

Mr. froggy the Ultimate Pacifist (who is also on oxygen for COPD) said, “Not today, kid. You all will need to just wait your turns like everyone else.”

“I fucking hate you old geezers!” the boy said.

At that point the manager appeared, looked at the kids, then pointed at the door and said, “OUT!”

They left, and as they pulled away, their car burned rubber.

Punk. If I’d been there I’d have kicked the kid's ass.

feel like eating my sub later, like tonight for supper.

I never behaved that way as a kid, and neither did my kids or grandkids. I don't get it.

They treat people around them like shit and suffer no consequences. But I think it boils down to our society we've basically as a society told the young that the only ones who get ahead are those that are willing to trample on others

it's true. I'm glad that most of the young people I know aren't that way. I hope their kind will always outnumber the others.

I work in a middle school. I see too many kids that think it ok to cuss a teacher out in front of everyone. The upper admin doesn't do much because a kid kicked out of school means less money for them. I think it shows a general lack of respect. The public as a whole has less respect for teachers so why should kids give them respect.

When the kids start disrespecting me in the clinic...I send them back to class. Call it failure to cooperate. If you are well enough to dis me you are well enough to be in class. Sure enough, the punks will come in seriously hurt. I treat them but then I remind them of their behavior the last time we met and I use it as a teachable moment. It makes a better impression.

Thank God this is my last year. Sorry Mr Froggy had some grief. From the sound of it, those kids won't be as long lived as Mr Froggy.

was showing off for his friends, but I don't understand what's so cute about cruelty. I never have.

Mr. froggy's health is poor, but his character is strong and will remain that way to the end.

It's great you've been able to handle some of the situations you've had to deal with by later using them as "teachable moments."

He lost his hearing aid yesterday (it's probably somewhere in the house), but he thinks he heard the manager call one of them "Ned."

Too bad some kids think it's cool to be hateful and rude.
