Constance Henrietta Mierzwiak, AKA, Ruby Starr, died in 1995, my hubby was stationed in Germany at the time and I didn't pay much attention to current musical events.

A long belated RIP Ruby Starr.
I'll never forget her role in the song Jim Dandy with Black Oak Arkansas.

7. Well, I'm 63, and the 'music of my times' was earlier

so pardon my never having heard of Ruby, or Jim Dandy, or BOA.
It got me to thinking about regional popularity of music. I found this article that shows areas in the US that have their own music scene...lots of little areas!
