I'm in Virginia. We have a few inches of ice on the roads covered by about 4 inches of snow. I will NOT be leaving my house.

Tomorrow is election day here.

My polling location is just down the street.

I will walk over later in the day.

HISD did not call off classes. I even got an hour later than usual start. Traffic was very very light and I still made it in on time.

for years. Not to tempt fate but this area of the world is not for weather wimps. You have enough warning these days that you would have to be a candidate for the Darwin Award to get caught with your pants down in a hurricane these days. Once was enough but we came through pretty good, no thanks to some government agencies.

The freeway was an icy parking lot. Southern roads are flat do water does not drain off - it stays and freezes. Northern roads are pitched at a 7 degree angle for much needed and much appreciated drainage - a fact I learned on DU.
