My Family has been going through some rough time lately (who hasn't) financially and otherwise. Emotional issue, visa issues, electric cutoff ,etc.
We are going through our books and trying to sell what we can however we can to try to work through some of our financial problems. This is not something that we want to do, but ....
We have books that we have collected through graduate school and before - an some other items. Many are textbooks or others that we use as sources for stuff we use in our Government classes didn't know if anybody might be interested in some of them.
If so, you could IM me.

(12,722 posts)I'm almost sorry we're in the middle of a renovation that is going to eat through all our windfall to get us to a point we can live in the home we're renovating.
Otherwise, I'd be interested and give you a fair collector's price - at 140 years old and at least 5' x 6', it should be worth $300 - 500 in as-is fair condition, and $1200 or more if in as-is good condition. (Just remember, never toss it in the washer and definately never put it in a dryer!)
Good luck with your sales, and I hope your financial issues will turn around as soon as possible.

(25,771 posts)I really don't think I will sell it, but I am interested in archival info
It was made by my great grandmother when she was 16. Before he died my dad gave it to me to take care of.

(6,151 posts)but I don't see why anyone should object to your post. It would be cruel and heartless to do so. I only wish you the best, and would help if I could. Unfortunately I live on the thin edge myself. In retirement it's fairly secure, but I don't even have a car. I hope and pray things get better for you and the family. I know how hard times can feel.
