toaster will sit on that shelf in the garage. I was making breakfast about 4 years ago and the toaster only toasted one side. He reminded me of that one in the garage, I told him I might break it out and make toast for our fiftieth wedding breakfast. I went and bought myself a new toaster.

That's an expensive Kitchenaid! Maybe she'll use it in her new business in SC.

I innocently thought it would make her life easier.
I will NEVER live it down.
Good Luck.

Extra credit: "the wife"?
I'd be in BIG trouble for that.

I've found in the past couple of years that I love baking cupcakes and I'm still using a GE hand mixer that is about 35 years old. I just look at Kitchenaid mixers and dream.

Mine was trouble-free for twenty years. Then I repaired it, and it's working just fine for a few more.

They do a great job, particularly for breads.

She loves the damn thing. Been using it every day since. She told me on more than one occasion that it's her favorite present from me ever.

It's been getting long in tooth lately, but is still functional. Last year, I bought her a newer one... She loves that one too.

Hopefully, that'll give you some cheer.

Damn, they were expensive and I LOVED them. I'd been cooking
with the same worn out crap from my first marriage for probably 25 or 30 years.

What happened? They were "cooked" when our house burned down.

Did not replace them exactly. Bought some moderately priced stuff.

So, if your wife has been hankerin' for a fancy Kitchenaid, she'll love it.
If not, better have a back up plan.
